Leitura e recepção em meio século de insustentável leveza: subsídios para uma história da literatura de autoria feminina em Caxias do Sul, de 1869 a 1919

Abstract

This thesis seeks to unveil, through research in primary sources, which consist of journals circulating in Caxias do Sul, from 1869 to 1919, focusing on female authored compositions, the place occupied by women and their texts in the historical, social, political and economic context that encompasses Caxias do Sul, from the beginning, in the moments before its foundation, to the municipality, with a view to providing subsidies for the writing of a literary history of the region under the sign of gender. Still, based on the problematization of reading and interpretation of aspects of history, culture, politics and legislation, as well as literature, which regulated the Italian colonization in Caxias do Sul, we seek to discuss the erasure of at least 50 years of history prior to the establishment of the myth of Italianity as the sovereign culture of a people whose saga still reverberates. Through the regional configuration, cultural interrelationships, and the organization of the space that would later be occupied by Italian immigrants, we take into account the context that was left behind when they left for cuccagn aland.
