O anticomunismo na seção Correspondência Caipira do Correio Riograndense (1945-1955): sarcasmo e linguagem regional nas crônicas de Zé Fernandes

Abstract

This work has as its main objective to analyze the anti-communist manifestations of Zé Fernandes in the section Correspondência Caipira, of the Correio Riograndense journal, observing the resource of sarcasm in the regional languages - yokel and gaucha - used by the chronicler. Published weekly from 1941 to 1965, the chronicles of the section Correspondência Caipira were written by Zé Fernandes, pseudonym of Frei Dionisio Veronese. This study analyzes 15 (fifteen) of these chronicles, published in the journal between 1945 and 1955, 10 (ten) of which correspond to an anti-communist criticism which uses political arguments, while another 5 (five) fight communism with arguments from religion. The material analyzed, fully digitized, can be found in the historical collection of newspapers, from the Memory Center present on the website of the City Council of Caxias do Sul. The specific objectives are to analyze the political moments that are being developed in the region of Serra Gaucha, the state of Rio Grande do Sul and the country, from the perspective of communication, through persuasion; to raise facts which are able to demonstrate political actions through the press and in the Correio Riograndense; to point out the differences between communism and anti-communism in the history of the press; analyze the sarcasm present in the chronicles as a literary and also an argumentative resource (from political and religious points of view); identify the relationship of the language as a regional element, among the yokel and gaucho regionalities, and contribute to the understanding of history and its relationship with politics, reading, literature and communication.
