Esta dissertação investiga a representação do imigrante alemão no Rio Grande do Sul em O Continente (1949), de Erico Verissimo. Para tanto, analisa os recursos narrativos empregados pelo escritor na construção da personagem imaginária e aborda a importância do texto literário ao propor uma perspectiva do processo histórico. A pesquisa apresenta uma discussão interdisciplinar da questão História e Literatura, admitindo contribuições teóricas da Sociologia e da Antropologia.
Abstract
This study investigates the representation of the German immigrant in Rio Grande do Sul in O Continente (1949), by Erico Verissimo. For that, analyses the narrative resources used by the writer in the construction the imaginary personage and approaches the importance of the literal text to propose a perspective of historical process. The research presents a interdisciplinary discussion of question History and Literature, admitting theoretician contributions of Sociology and Anthropology.
