O monitoramento da evolução dos destinos turísticos contribui para melhores resultados do turismo tanto para a localidade quanto para os atores envolvidos. Nesse sentido realizou-se uma pesquisa bibliográfica abrangendo estudos sobre destinos turísticos visando compreender melhor diferentes abordagens usadas com esse propósito. Com base nesses referenciais, foi realizado um estudo de caso único no município de Garibaldi - RS, com o objetivo de descrever e analisar a evolução da atividade turística nesse destino. A pesquisa buscou identificar períodos de maior ênfase no turismo, permitindo uma análise das principais políticas públicas e marcos relevantes que influenciaram a evolução da oferta turística. Abstract
Monitoring the evolution of tourist destinations contributes to better tourism results for both the locality and the players involved. To this end, a bibliographical survey was carried out covering studies on tourist destinations in order to better understand the different approaches used for this purpose. Based on these references, a single case study was carried out in the municipality of Garibaldi - RS, with the aim of describing and analyzing the evolution of tourist activity in this destination. The research aimed to identify periods of greater emphasis on tourism, allowing an analysis of the main public policies and relevant milestones that have influenced the evolution of the tourist offer.
