A presente dissertação investiga o conceito de liberdade na filosofia prática de Immanuel Kant, examinando especialmente sua formulação na Fundamentação da Metafísica dos Costumes e na Crítica da Razão Prática. O trabalho parte da reconstrução de conceitos fundamentais da ética kantiana (i.e., dever, imperativo categórico e respeito) para explicitar as bases da estrutura normativa que sustenta o agir moral. Em seguida, analisa-se a terceira seção da Fundamentação, na qual Kant empreende a dedução do conceito de liberdade a partir da autonomia da vontade e da validade da lei moral. Discute-se o problema do círculo interpretativo entre liberdade e lei moral, a teoria dos dois mundos e o modo como a noção de liberdade se expressa como ratio essendi da moralidade. Por fim, examina-se o deslocamento operado na Crítica da Razão Prática, em que Kant abandona a estratégia dedutiva estrita e fundamenta a realidade prática da liberdade no Fato da Razão. A partir de comentadores contemporâneos, avalia-se se há continuidade ou ruptura entre as duas abordagens, bem como a coerência interna da arquitetura moral kantiana. Conclui-se que, embora Kant altere a estratégia argumentativa, a liberdade permanece o núcleo estruturante de sua filosofia prática, condição de possibilidade da autonomia e fundamento do dever moral. Abstract
This dissertation investigates the concept of freedom in Immanuel Kant's practical philosophy, focusing particularly on its articulation in the Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals and in the Critique of Practical Reason. The study begins by reconstructing key elements of the Kantian moral framework (i.e., duty, the categorical imperative, and respect) in order to clarify the normative structure underlying moral action. It then examines the third section of the Groundwork, where Kant seeks to justify the concept of freedom through the autonomy of the will and the universal validity of the moral law. Special attention is given to the alleged circularity between freedom and the moral law, the two-worlds theory, and the claim that freedom is the ratio essendi of morality. The dissertation further analyzes the shift that occurs in the Critique of Practical Reason, where Kant abandons the deductive strategy and grounds the objective reality of freedom in the Fact of Reason. Drawing on leading commentators, the work evaluates whether the two treatments of freedom exhibit continuity or rupture, and how they contribute to the coherence of Kant's moral system. It concludes that, despite methodological changes, freedom remains the central structural element of Kant's practical philosophy - the condition of autonomy and the ultimate foundation of moral obligation.
