Meu trabalho parte de uma pergunta: "como um produto cultural pode contribuir para a divulgação de conhecimento histórico?" Com base nesta questão, busco pesquisar o impacto de produtos culturais no campo da história, na forma de incentivo à pesquisa ou leitura de conhecimento histórico. Analiso, especificamente, o caso de Hamilton , uma peça de teatro musical em cartaz na Broadway, em Nova York. Hamilton tornou-se um fenômeno nos EUA ao tratar da Revolução Americana e seu pai fundador esquecido, Alexander Hamilton, pela linguagem de rap e hip-hop. Orientada pelos conceitos da história pública e cultura pop, pesquiso como a história nacional estadunidense é divulgada pelo produto analisado e qual o impacto a peça teve no campo da história (sic).
Abstract
My project comes from a question: "how can a cultural product contribute to the disclosure of historical knowledge?" Based on this question, I research the impact of cultural projects in the field of history, in the shape of incentive to research or reading
historical knowledge. I analyze, specifically, the Hamilton case, a musical theater play on Broadway, in New York. Hamilton became a phenomenon in the USA when telling the story of the American Revolution and it's forgotten Founding Father, Alexander Hamilton, through the language of rap and hip-hop . Guided by the concepts of public history and pop culture, I research how the american national history is disclosed by the product analyzed and what's it's impact in the field of history (sic).
