Inventário participativo de patrimônio cultural em Fazenda Souza / RS

Abstract

This production demonstrates the participative construction of an inventory of the cultural heritage of Fazenda Souza, Caxias do Sul’s district / RS. Based on the methodology proposed by the IPHAN, the participatory inventory is a Heritage Education tool and fosters the discussion of cultural heritage, with the community as the protagonist of this construction. The work developed led to the mobilization and sensitization of the residents regarding their cultural references, as well as the search for preservation and appreciation of them. They have chosen as cultural heritages, material and immaterial cultural goods order as celebrations, knowledge and places that represent district’s history and memory. Among the selected heritages are the knowledges of the bell ringing and the practice of the benzedeiras; as celebrations, are the Feast of Nossa Senhora da Saúde, the Feast of Nossa Senhora de Lourdes, the Capelinhas and the Feast of the Farmer; already the places chosen were the Padre João Schiavo Chapel, the São Roque Chapel, the Minuano Cultural and Sports Association, the Fazenda Souza Mother Church and the Josefinos de Murialdo Seminary. Throughout the inventory process, concepts of cultural heritage, mainly addressed by IPHAN, UNESCO and Brazilian Federal Constitution, were articulated to the construction of the collective memory (Halbwachs, 1990) of Fazenda Souza addressed through the methodology of oral history, its representations (Chartier, 2002) and different forms of appropriation of selected cultural heritage (Canclini, 1994). At the end of the project developed with the residents, a book was built with the inventory records and a banner with the synthesis of the history of the listed cultural heritage that will compose a traveling exhibition in the district.
