Vozes na cidade : turismo, eventos e seus impactos em Gramado - Rio Grande do Sul - Brasil

Abstract

This study has as its theme the impacts generated by events in the city of Gramado – Rio Grande do Sul – Brazil. The relevance of this research is based on the following aspects: scarcity of studies analyzing the management of the impacts of events in the city of Gramado, the need to appreciate the events as a strategy for development and tourist attraction; to warn about the importance of the Tourism Events segment and its impacts in cities, regions or countries. Its main focus was to identify in the different "local" voices events which cause the greatest transformations in everyday city life and what kinds of impacts are generated by these events. Through exploratory- descriptive research, qualitative and quantitative and through bibliographic, documental and field researches - with an ethnographic perspective, we sought to dialogue with the concepts of tourism, event management and impacts, considering the importance and growth that events are acquiring in the city. These themes, related to each other, provided the basis of the analysis of responses to questions in the questionnaire and interviews. Through the voices of residents and/or employees of Gramado, it was possible to demonstrate that the events that cause the major impacts in the city are the Natal Luz and the Festival de Cinema de Gramado. The types of the impacts that have been identified are related to social, cultural, physical, environmental, political, economic and tourist spheres.
