In light of the contemporary environmental crisis and its impact on social life, the inseparability of this crisis from agricultural production and management methods 'and the resulting consequences for gender relations' has become evident. Against this backdrop, the agroecological and ecofeminist movements have emerged. The research question addresses the role of the agroecological and ecofeminist movements in the struggle to assert women's right to equality in Brazil. To this end, a qualitative study is conducted using dialectical and analytical methods and a bibliographic approach, based on a literature review and an analysis of Brazilian legal texts and case law. Thus, the general objective of this work is to analyze the efforts and struggles of the ecofeminist and agroecological movements in the pursuit of a society that is freer, fairer, and more egalitarian, particularly for women. The specific objectives are: a) to study the principle of equality and its relationship with an ecologically balanced environment; b) to study the history, struggles, and roles of the ecofeminist and agroecological movements; and c) to examine the relationship between the agroecological and ecofeminist movements and the constitutional principle of equality. The working hypothesis is that there is a link between the agroecological and ecofeminist movements in the pursuit of equality. The first chapter addresses the principle of equality within the Constitution and the right to an ecologically balanced environment; the second chapter discusses the agroecological and ecofeminist movements; and the third chapter examines these movements as promoters of the constitutional principle of equality. The study concludes that protecting an ecologically balanced environment and promoting equality between men and women are complementary and interdependent objectives. Building an environmentally sustainable society presupposes the elimination of gender inequalities, just as realizing equality requires development models committed to environmental preservation and the upholding of human dignity. In light of the foregoing, this work falls within the graduate program's research line: Environmental Law and New Rights. [resumo fornecido pelo autor]
