O presente estudo objetiva contribuir para o processo de compreensão leitora de pessoas com cegueira congênita sob a ótica da polifonia linguística. Nesse sentido, tem em vista a importância da aprendizagem pelo Sistema Braille de leitura e escrita e pelo uso da informática mediante os softwares de voz, com a finalidade de potencializar a reconstituição do sentido de discursos escritos (compreensão leitora) por essas pessoas, contribuindo assim para a formação de leitores proficientes. Trata-se de um estudo teórico fundamentado em autores como: Platão, com o conceito de alteridade; Ferdinand Saussure, por meio da Teoria do Valor; e Oswald Ducrot, a partir da Polifonia Linguística na constituição do sentido do discurso. A culminância desta investigação está na constatação científica da necessidade de o cego congênito desenvolver as habilidades que o uso dessas duas ferramentas pressupõem. Resumo
This study aims to contribute to the process of reading comprehension of people with congenital blindness from the perspective of the linguistic polyphony. In this regard, it focuses on the importance of learning through reading and writing in the Braille system and through the use of information technology by means of voice software, in order to make more effective the reconstitution of meaning of written discourses (reading comprehension) by the blind, thus contributing to the development of proficient readers. This is a theoretical study based on authors such as: Plato, with his concept of alterity; Ferdinand Saussure, and his theory of value, and Oswald Ducrot, based on his Linguistic Polyphony concerning the constitution of meaning of the discourse. The culmination of this investigation is the scientific confirmation of the need for congenital blind people to develop the skills that the use of these two tools requires.
